Field Day June 22-23, 2019

Dale Durham, W5WI, Re-elected WTX section Manager

Time flies!  Field Day this year has caught a lot of us by surprise.
This year June has five weekends and since Field Day falls on the fourth
weekend of June, many of us are not ready.

In checking the Field Day locator on the ARRL webpage I don’t see many
West Texas Section clubs listed as having Field Day activities.  If your
club is planning on participating in Field Day and they are not already

“Mentoring the Next Generation” is Hamvention and ARRL 2019 National Convention Theme

With an eye toward helping new and inexperienced hams enjoy the full range of activities that Amateur Radio has to offer, Hamvention® and the ARRL 2019 National Convention will embrace the theme of “Mentoring the Next Generation.” Hamvention hosts the National Convention May 17 – 19 at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center in Xenia, Ohio. MERRY CHRISTMAS

Time flies when you are having fun! This year has flown by and the holiday season is upon us.

I want to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year! May God’s blessing be upon you!

I hope each of you has enjoyed ham radio as much as I have this past year. Although I haven’t gotten to meet and visit with as many of my fellow hams as I would have liked to, I did meet some wonderful folks who are enjoying our hobby and passing it on to the next generation. I visited several clubs over Field Day and I enjoyed visiting the folks and I really enjoyed the fellowship this activity brings.
