THE HURRICANE WATCH NET IS NOW ACTIVE

Hurricane
The Hurricane Watch Net (HWN) is now active in support of areas affected by **Hurricane Isaias**.
HWN is operating on **14.325 MHz** on 20 meters, with operations on **7.268 MHz** on 40 meters as propagation and operational needs require.
Our trained Net Control Stations are standing by to receive and relay ground-truth weather observations and other reports directly to the forecasters at the National Hurricane Center. We are also prepared to handle emergency and priority traffic, as well as outgoing Health and Welfare traffic from the affected area.
For weather reports, please provide your data whenever available; estimates are also helpful. We collect and forward:
• Your name and exact location—city, county/parish, and state
• The time of the observation
• Sustained wind speed, gusts, and wind direction
• Barometric pressure, if available
• Rainfall totals, flooding, or storm-surge conditions
• Tornadoes or other significant weather
• Damage that affects public safety, communications, or access
Please provide only information you have personally observed. **Do not put yourself in danger to obtain a report.**
