Greater Houston Hamfest

The annual Greater Houston Hamfest is this weekend — starting Friday,
3.1.24 from Noon to 9:00 pm and Saturday, 3.2.24 (Texas Independence Day
!!!) from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Again, the raffle prizes are outstanding — Yaesu FTDX10, FTM-500DR,
Yaesu FT-70DR, Yaesu FT-4XR and a Nano VNA-H4 Bundle. Come, buy a raffle
ticket — your odds are a whole lot better than for Lotto,
MegaMillions, or Powerball — and the proceeds go to help Amateur Radio
in the Greater Houston area. Support your local Hams — buy a ticket.

An impressive list of speakers will be present —

Riley Hollingsworth, K4ZDH, the original “Punisher”,
Discussing ARRL Volunteer Monitoring (and maybe tales of
yesteryear!),

Joe Eisenberg, K0NEB, “The Cat In The Hat Guy”,
The Joy and Benefits of Kit Building

Walter Holmes, K5WH, the digital mode whiz kid,

Stephen Flowers, W2WF, teaching how to model your antennas
(Sports Illustrated models will NOT be present),

Terry Leatherland, K5PGF, how to have antennas and your HOA, too,

Bill Crowell, N4HPG, explaining how solar electricity generation can
benefit your Ham station.

Come to the ARRL Forum — updates on Congressional action to eliminate
HOA restrictions on Amateur Radio (and how you can help), the QST
cut-off issue, the recent ARRL Board Meeting, LoTW status and the new
secret handshake.
