The First Monday Meetings at the clubhouse have been resumed by the club officers due to the decrease in covid cases and the increase in vaccinations. We will still be running zoom meetings if you wish to attend remotely. Matthew W5KER will publishing links to all meetings on the W5AW website www.qsl.net/w5aw, so go there to get in!
Nets Coming Up this week: Daren W5DTB will be net control forJuly. August net control is still vacant, so please consider volunteering for August. Contact any club officer or myself for information.
Tuesday: The Tuesday Night DSTAR Net will be held at 7PM on the W5AW-C Module.
Wednesday: The Permian Basin ARES net will be held on Wednesday Night at 9 PM on the West Texas Connection. There are major challenges with the link between Midland and other sites right now so be patient and understanding as we fight our way through this.
Thursday: The Howard County Traffic Net will be held on Thursday night at 8 PM on the 146.820 repeater.
Saturday: Breakfast get together is back! Please join @ 0730 or so to have a good breakfast and fellowship. The new location(s) are the old Dell’s or Denny’s on Birdwell Dr.
There are many other nets that the DSTAR repeater links to throughout the week, so please check out the W5AW website www.qsl.net/w5aw and follow the Nets and Repeaters link for all nets and frequencies.
Remember that Dstar and local nets are open to all licensed amateur operators.

07/20/2021. AMSAT’s Engineering and Operations Teams have announced that AO-109 (RadFxSat-2/AMSAT Fox-1E) is now open for amateur use. AMSAT advises operators to use efficient modes for making contacts, such as CW or FT4, because issues with the satellite make SSB voice contacts “challenging at best.” |

Coming Up this week:
Monday: The Monday Meeting will not be held. It will be postponed until June 8th so that we can visit with Pepper. The monthly meeting will be held then.
