ARRL WTX Section Roundtable February 1, 2024 at 8:00 PM CST with ARES Discussion at 7:30 PM

Hello All,

Another week has flown by and we will be having another Zoom meeting shortly.  This week David, W5JDO will be discussing interfaces with your local Emergency Manager.  Experience has shown that they are a bit confused (as we all are sometimes) over what the role of ARES and RACES is.  There knowing who to call and under what circumstances is paramount to our effectiveness and ability to serve our communities.  A similar topic that will be discussed is what being called out to operate means to each of us.  We may wonder… How do we respond?  Is it a Team effort and we work as a group, or, are we assigned to specific offices or organizations?  What’s the duration of our deployment?  etc, etc, etc…

For our regular portion of the meeting let’s discuss how we fared during Winter Field Day.  This would include how we operated, location, set up, etc.  And, since several of us have been chasing some DX, any news from that experience.

See you there!
